10 July 2009-
Dear patient friend,
Where have we been? Well, snow doesn't get shoveled by itself. Leaves aren't raked by the squirrels. And diapers don't change themselves now do they? But it's spring, and music is in the air. Just a little bit.
Firstly, some of you may know of Goober & the Peas. The first album, The Complete Works of Goober & the Peas, which has been legally unavailable for many years, has finally made its debut this week on the internet musical systems via iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, eMusic, et al. It has been re-mastered and sounds "super-duper," according to many of the top sound scientists. The second album, The Jet-Age Genius of Goober & the Peas, will be digitally released on May 11th. Our next in-person performance will be at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit in June or July. If you would like to stay in touch with us, please sign up for the Goober & the Peas mailing list, by clicking on the link below, and get a free download of the song, "Up The Stairs".
As for Blanche-ing, we're trying to get back in the swing of things. Hibernation is a tough deal. We got some help from dear friend and former label-mate Buck 65 with a French translation of "Do You Trust Me? ". This will be released as a 7-inch vinyl single record, b/w a new-ish song called "It's Okay". The kind people at Gangplank Records (www.gangplankrecords.com) will be releasing it. Hopefully, we shall schedule some live performances in the summertime. Ah, the summertime...
'bye for now,
Dan (Goober)
