Painting practise inspired by a photo I took while visiting Norway 🙂
Having a passion for icons and design, I just had to turn my own wedding in to a graphic design project! I created this logo based from our nicknames, Panda Jen and Polar Ber, to help symbolise our marriage; two becoming one. I used the logo as much as I could for the day, it was part of the stationary, table plans, decorations and wedding favours. We had a music visual theme to the day, vinyl records and guitar plectrums being a core focus for the decorations and gifts for our guests.
I absolutely adore the early Spyro the Dragon games, especially Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer. I need to practice painting more, so I set my self a challenge of doing a paint over of an original screenshot from Spyro 2. I wanted to create an image of how the game could look if it was recreated using current generation graphics.
The original Spyro series was created by Insomniac Games and I highly recommend everyone to play them! 😀
Finally got a colour version of Wurm done. It was an interesting process starting with a grey scale image and worrying about the colours afterwards. It certainly helped me try and focus on trying to get the tonal values right.
I recently played the video game Ryse. I enjoyed it so much I had an urge to draw a little bear themed soldier 😛 I scanned my sketch in and finally got round to working on it. I created this value painting using a Wacom Cintiq 13HD which was kindly lent to me by a friend for the weekend. It was really interesting to use and made line work much easier.
I would like to refine this guy a little bit more in the near future. Try and design an interesting motif for his shield and add some colour!
I was asked if I was interested in making a cover for the game, Miasma 2. The 3D character renders were supplied to me by ESP-Games.
Miasma 2 created by ESP-Games.
